Leonardo was the son of Manuel Nunes the Portuguese / Hawaiian builder. Manuel billed himself as the “Inventor of the Ukulele”. In the mid 1910s Leonardo left his father’s firm in Hawaii and settled in Los Angeles. There he began building ukuleles for several mainland distributors. This uke is in need of restoration and features solid koa top, back and sides.
