The classic Five-Two Stratocaster pickup was originally designed for Nashville studio players who wanted to soften the treble attack on their high strings while retaining all of the articulate slap on the low strings.The solution was a mix of Alnico 5 and Alnico 2 rod magnets which offers the best of both worlds.Alnico 5s under the low E, A and D strings keep them crisp and clear while Alnico 2 rods under the G, B and E strings provide a smooth treble response.The custom-coil bridge pickup is slightly warmerexactly what a single-coil bridge needsand is calibrated for full-bodied sustain and stronger attack.Add in the Five-Two neck pickup and custom RWRP Five-Two middle pickup and the complete package produces glorious Strat tone with buzz-free operation in positions 2 and 4.
